Noxious Weed Walk (Quilcene)
Sophie DeGroot, the Jefferson County Noxious Weed Coordinator, will join us on May 8th from 10-12pm for a “Weed Walk.” While we learn to identify noxious weeds in our area, she will share additional information on what exactly a noxious weed is, why it is important to control them, who to report them to, and how we may employ different control techniques throughout the year. Bring your questions on all things noxious weeds!

Mason County Forest Festival welcomes you! For 81 years, the Mason County Forest Festival has proudly hosted a celebration to welcome friends, families, neighbors, and visitors from all over, celebrating our rich forest traditions. The Forest Festival includes the entire community in its annual celebration. The 2025 theme is “Roots in Wood. Strength in Water.”
It is a fun time to celebrate our beautiful forest that we love so much!

Gravel Unravel Bon Jon Pass Out (Quilcene)
Gravel Unravel is a challenging gravel cycling series set in Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, offering scenic routes through the lush Olympic National Forest. Riders can choose from short (25–35 miles), medium (45–55 miles), or long (65–80 miles) courses with competitive and non-competitive divisions. The event is hosted by Peninsula Adventure Sports and La Vogue Cyclery, with Eleven Winery returning as the 2025 Series Sponsor.
The Bon Jon Pass Out event takes place in the welcoming town of Quilcene, starting at Worthington Park. Riders tackle the scenic but demanding Bon Jon Pass, with longer routes even looping back for a second climb. Entry includes professional race support, RFID timing, on-course snacks, medical and mechanical aid, and post-race food and drinks. Limited to 400 riders, with camping and lodging discounts available nearby.

National Parks Day - Free Admission
National Park Week is happening from April 19 to April 27 this year. Entrance fees will be waived on April 19, 2025, to kick off the celebration and encourage everyone to enjoy their national parks in person. The National Park Service, along with its parks, programs, and partners, will host events and activities throughout the week!

Brinnon 3rd Annual Cook-Off
Join Us for the 3rd Annual Cook-Off!
We had so much fun with the seafood chowder contest last year that we've decided to do it again! We’re fortunate to live in one of the best locations for fresh seafood; why not make the most of it? For our vegan and vegetarian friends (and seafood haters), we’ve got you covered with a special vegan chowder option, so there’s no excuse not to join in on the fun!
Bring your best chowder or just bring your appetite. This event is open to everyone, and spectators will have the fun job of being the judges. We will take up to 20 contestants.
Event details:
When: April 12th at 12pm - until the chowder runs out
Where: Cove RV Park, in the pavilion
Chowder requirements: Chowder must have at least one type of seafood in it. Chowder will need to be prepared ahead of time and brought in a crockpot or similar container that keeps it heated.
To enter the contest, call us, send us a message on Facebook or come into the store and tell us in person. The top 3 winners will receive a trophy and bragging rights.

Cookie Decorating Contest (QUilcene)
Quilcene, WA – February 14, 2025 – Celebrate Valentine’s Day with creativity and community spirit at OlyCAP’s Valentine's Day Cookie Decorating Contest on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Quilcene Community Center (294952 State Highway 101, Quilcene, WA).
Families and individuals of all ages are invited to showcase their decorating skills with festive cookies. Judging will take place at 3:00 PM, with OlyCAP’s Head Start and Nutrition Teams serving as judges. Attendees can also learn more about OlyCAP’s programs supporting families in Jefferson County.
In addition to the competition, the event offers a great opportunity for families to connect with local resources. OlyCAP’s Head Start team will be available to share information about early childhood education programs, while the Nutrition Team will provide insights on **healthy eating initiatives and food assistance programs.
Whether you're competing for the top cookie or just stopping by for some Valentine’s Day fun, this event is a great way to engage with the community and enjoy a sweet celebration!

15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge (Union)
Join us for the 15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at the Alderbrook Resort & Spa, a fundraiser supporting Mason County Emergency Services. Enjoy free coffee, hot chocolate, clam chowder, raffles, and more fun! Take the plunge and receive a dry t-shirt!
The plunge is open to anyone who raises a minimum of $30 in pledges, all of which are due at registration. Come out to watch and support the participants! Full Moon Yoga
Celebrate the full moon at our cozy candlelight yoga class at 7 pm!
This 90 minute class includes all levels yoga, guided yoga nidra meditation, sound healing bowls, mantra and herbal tea led by Michelle Pugh, owner of Joonbug Yoga.
Pre-registration is required. Class is held in the Mount Washington B/C conference room inside of the resort.
